Lighthouse GlassOriginal Design KaleidoscopesThis unique kaleidoscope uses both eyes, yes, it's binocular! The
left eye sees one variety of colors and textures, while the right eye
sees different colors and textures. Combining what both eyes are seeing,
the most frequent response we hear from people is WOW. Many folks think
it looks like a space ship. Those old science fiction shows were part
of the inspiration for the design. We call it our "Alpha" model
as it was the first in our series of binocular kaleidoscopes. A facinating
addition to any kaleidoscope collection.
This is an original design, hand crafted by professional stained glass artist/craftsman Keith Garnick. Each piece, this model has 35 pieces, is custom cut and assembled in our Petersburg, Alaska workshop. The Tiffany copper method is used. Each one is individually custom cut, ground and assembled, every one is a unique piece of art. No two are alike. We use the best quality front surface mirror in all of our scopes for high reflectivity and sharper more intense images. Front surface mirror has an aluminum coating on the front surface of the glass. Front surface mirror is used in precision optical instruments, cameras, and telescopes. Ordinary mirror has the silver coating on the back of the mirror. Light passes through the layer of glass before reflecting the images. The image wheel is made up from 13 different colors. It is a free standing kaleidoscope 3 inches tall, 9 inches long. Kaleidoscope image samples
